Travel Award Information

Congratulations to all of the ASMCUE 2010 Travel and Fellowship Awardees!

Announcing the 2010 ASMCUE Textbook Travel Award Winner!

Faculty Member's Name

Enid Gonzalez, California State University, Sacramento, CA is the 2010 ASMCUE  Textbook Travel Awardee. The award is targeted toward new microbiology faculty members and provides an opportunity for educators to become familiar with undergraduate education research and to learn new instructional pedagogies. Because Gonzalez’s Early-Career Faculty Travel Award application was considered particularly exceptional, the reviewers agreed that she should receive this year’s Textbook Travel Award.

Funding for the Textbook Travel Award derives from a special endowment created in fall 2007 by several textbook authors committed to faculty development and ASMCUE. The authors sponsoring this endowment include Jeffrey Pommerville (Glendale Community College in Arizona), Marjorie Kelly Cowan (Miami University in Ohio), Chris Woolverton (Kent State University in Ohio), Robert Bauman (Amarillo College in Texas), and Kathleen Talaro (Pasadena City College in California).
